These past several days have been filled to the brim with countless errands, chores, and then again some relaxing summertime stuff, like a quick trip to the pool today, but while there is plenty of sewing to be done there just hasn't been much sewing going on around here. Part of it is the terrible cold that we all had last week, part of it is that my sewing machine really needs a tune-up and part of it is that we are just enjoying the summer and outside.
This weekend we finally bought a table and chairs for our patio! No more moving inside furniture out! Shortly after we put them in place we were enjoying an iced coffee and spied two hummingbirds whizz by, stop by our feeder and then move on to the hostas, success! I am beyond gitty about having attracted hummingbirds to our garden. I am not sure why exactly it matters so much to me, but they are simply such beautiful, graceful and delicate little birds and so amazing to see in action. After seeing them stop by the hostas I have for the second time this season actually been happy to have a long line of hostas along our fence line.
I am not a fan of hostas. I don't like the way they fade out at the end of the summer and I'm not even sure i really love the purple flowers that they put up, but this spring our hostas were the biggest, greenest things in our yard and perhaps even on the block and they looked beautiful and now, well, now of course they are bringing hummingbirds to our yard, so okay, thank you hostas!
I guess it's enough of the lazy summer days around here, off to buy some supplies for some bags tomorrow, let me know if you are interested in one! And, I need to tweak my stuffed squirrel pattern because the first one just didn't look quite as I had hoped. Here's to hoping I shake this cough soon and get my motivation back!
