With the last of the little projects completed (for before vacation anyway) I have tucked away the sewing machine and am giving it a well deserved vacation! But, there was one more project to do first!
I saw this beach collecting bag in Amanda Soule's book, Handmade Home, and I thought it would be just the thing to toss our annual "We're going to the beach CD" into before we put them in the mail to our family.
The bag is made of screening! At first I was a little bit leary about putting screening material through my sewing machine, but, there was nothing to worry about. This was really a quick, simple and fun project to do (read, it was all done with both children running around at my feet or sitting on my lap...). Screening is pretty inexpensive too, $6 for a huge roll of it, so I thought, why not make a gigantic bag for the beach toys too...
Now to put the cds into the bags...
and off to the post office after nap...that is the part that I like the least though. The post office around here is very frustrating.
And, now that the projects have been completed, phew, I suppose it's time for me to get going on more important things, like making lists, cleaning, etc. etc. etc...you know all of those getting ready for vacation things!
Enjoy the day!
