This weekend we had a chance to celebrate the sixth birthday of one of our cousins, yippee! But, this was not just any birthday, it was a superhero birthday, one where you were to come dressed as your favorite superhero!
Yippee, a perfect reason to make supercapes! This is something that I have been wanting to do for a while now for my little superheros, but just haven't.
One night several months ago a spontaneous game of "Superbrain!" erupted after bath with hooded towels. The hood, as Violet explained to me, is very important because it helps to protect her Superbrain! When I told Violet about the party she was immediately excited but decided that she wanted to be Superman :( Hmm, well that put a bit of a damper on my plans...she was, however, also very excited about the prospect of a Superbrain and Superbrain jr. cape, so we compromised with a mama made cape and a Superman shirt.
Now, how to make a cape without spending a lot of money...go through Brad's closet and find a shirt that is no longer work worthy (I used one of my old shirts for Henry...) and begin...
It was pretty easy to make, about one naps length...and the superheros liked it! (Tutorial here)
