We packed all of the Christmas stuff away yesterday. It always makes me sad when it is time to say goodbye to all of the pretty Christmas things...Especially since it means that it's time to put away all of our new ornaments.
Our tradition is to give each other a new ornament on Christmas Eve which means that there isn't much time to enjoy this year's ornaments.
This year Violet gave me a Christmas ball covered in buttons and Henry gave me a beautiful glass bird (he got a glass hen from me). Unfortunately I wasn't able to get pictures of those new ornaments, but I did snap a quick picture of my new star from Brad...here is the front...
So sweet!
I made Violet a little Christmas mouse ornament....
And Brad got a little acorn capped snowman from me...
As sad as it is to say goodbye to all of the Christmas pretty and warmth...doesn't it always suddenly feel like your house is 100 times bigger than it was before Christmas! And, simultaneously naked! Fortunately, I was able to dig up (wrinkles and all) the little snowflake banner I made last year to add a bit of decoration...
And, during last week's hike I found this amazing branch
Now it adds the perfect pop of wintry color to our mantel now that all of the Christmas glitz is gone!
