Like the rest of everywhere it seems, it's been COLD here! But, let me just say that I am not at all complaining! As far as I'm concerned, it's not winter unless it's cold. Up until now it's felt more like a cool late fall around here not winter. So I am embracing the cold weather, mittens scarves, puffy coats and all. Well, okay, not so much the puffy coat on me, because, let's face it, it's not very flattering. Sadly though, something we are missing with all of this cold weather is SNOW!
I have been aching for snow. My friend Jennet has been "bragging" about all of the snow she has been seeing and it's made me wanting it more and more! To be fair, she's told me that she has been doing some snow dances for me.
So, what to do if you don't have snow outside? Make some inside instead!
We used this snow dough recipe and let me tell you...it has brought hours and hours of fun! I encourage you to give it a try. Also, make it in a large container with a lid so that you can tuck it away for another day. Play around with the amount of oil that you use. At first we didn't use very much oil and the dough was soft and snowflake like...
the next go around we added more oil so we could make snowballs.
Beware, it is messy. It will get everywhere.
But, it's totally worth it for the fun that it brings, and it's really not too difficult to clean up.
Enjoy!
Need some more indoor snowy fun? Make snowmen finger puppets...
And now, please excuse me...I've got to go because we had a surprise overnight...
It's not a lot, but we'll take it! Off to play! Have a great day!
