Here are the last of the handmade Christmas gifts...
Two more 241 totes! So, now, if you are keeping track, but of course you aren't...but anyway...that's one, two and three and then these two four and five...and none of them are for me! In time, in time...
I made this one for my sister-in-law for her Christmas gift...
It seemed only right that she get one...seeing that she is one of my best customers! The colors are perfect for her and I love how it looks both professional and playful at the same time (fabric used: Anna Maria Horner Field Study, Robert Kauffman Essex Linen, Yarn-Dyed Black, and Woodlands Path, by Lecien).
Especially playful on the inside with waves, for her love of the ocean.
(fabric Wildwood Circles Seaside leftover from these shorts, also seen in this sailboat applique)
I tucked a little matching zipper pouch inside, complete with Starbucks gift card and voila!
And, this one, I made for my mom...
I've been wanting to make a bag (for myself) with this wool for a long time now. I was also supposed to have made my mom a 241 tote as a belated birthday gift (I talked about that here), but it got to be so belated (her birthday is in June!) that I decided that it would be better as a Christmas gift. It's okay, she's my mom, she forgives me!
It turns out that making this tote was a tad bit more difficult because of the thickness of the fabric, but I love the way it turned out. It's lined (sorry no picture...) with some humming bird fabric that I bought with her in mind at a little fabric shop in NYC before we moved and the pockets are liberty lifestyle leftover from Violet's dress. I love the pop of color in the pockets!
My mom called me the other day to tell me how much she loves her bag and that she has been bragging about it to anyone who will listen, thanks mom! I'm glad you like it! And then, after she told me all of that...she asked me if I could make her another one! No problem mom, maybe I'll get around to making myself one at the same time...
the Christmas gift recap is complete...I think.
