While were getting our Christmas decorations out and decorating the house our couch pillows began to look a bit out of place, too "Springy". I remembered that we had flannel pillow covers floating around somewhere, green plaid (from Target), but, despite having just seen them a few weeks ago I could not for the life of me find them! Boo. So the couch went pillow-less for a few days until I could make something.
I really didn't want something Christmasy, there's plenty of that around already. Just wintry, that's what I loved about my plaid, they were perfect through the entire winter. Of course, I didn't have any flannel plaid on hands (it was all used up for a dress and pants)...
I googled some silhouette clipart to find the reindeer and owl I wanted. (Owl here and Reindeer here)
I love them so very much! Oh man do these new pillows make me crazy happy! Like, wow, I didn't buy those?! I must admit I do love the owl a bit more than the reindeer, but still... They are the perfect addition to our couch for the winter... (ps, please excuse the school papers in the background, bad blogger not taking the whole scene into consideration!)
On the opposite side (mostly because I didn't have enough fabric, the story of every time I make pillows!) is fabulous fine wale green cord (seen here and here before). I love fine wale corduroy...it's sooo soft! And, hey, the solid green looks pretty great and perfectly Christmasy too... And now...I should really stop sewing for decorating and get started on Christmas gifts, etc!
Have a great day!
