Last week a friend of mine asked me if I might be able to work on a custom order for her...a felt campfire set (well two actually)...and even though I've got a few other things on my to make list for presents I just couldn't bring myself to say no to such a fun little project. So, over the weekend, while it snowed outside and we sat inside by the fire I began to stitch up some felt logs... Which, of course, peaked Violet and Henry's interest, which is why the above picture has three campfires in it. They were so excited by the idea of a felt campfire, but I told them that I wouldn't have time to make them one before Christmas, sneaky mama!
I got a little bit of inspiration from a Pinterest search and went to work...
I am so glad that I made them because they were so fun to make. They did, however, take quite a bit longer than I had expected they would. And, my hands are a bit achy from all of that handstitching, but still, making with felt is so fun and the results are always so lovely. And now, without even planning it I made the kids a Christmas present for under the tree!
I hope the recipients love their new campfires as much as I know Violet and Henry will!
