Okay, so today is the first day of Kids Clothes Week Spring...I've got some good news and "bad" news...let's start with the bad shall we?...Well, it's not really bad per say, more bad, tongue in cheek bad. Last night I began to do a little KCW prep (What else is one to do when it's the Sunday night before KCW and the kids are in bed and hubby is out of town?) and didn't get very far. It turns out my wonderful assistant husband accidentally printed my patterns out for me double sided! And so with no ink in our printer at home I called it quits on the prep last night. It was probably for the best, the couch is much more comfortable than my sewing chair.
Ok, so the good news...last KCW's Hosh pants were a success and Henry loves wearing them! Success, he wears something other than leggings! But, his Hosh pants are the only pants he wears. So, I thought I ought to make him another pair for Spring. He and I went to Joann last week and without blinking or stumbling, he picked out yellow.
He thinks that people might think he's the sunshine (an idea he may have gotten from this book, we love it!).
But, as I was making these I was thinking..."these really look like girl pants!"
But he was excitedly hanging over my shoulder or popping in and out to check on them. At some point their name changed from sunshine pants to bumblebee pants. I was supposed to have embroidered a tiny bee buzzing on his leg, but when I asked him to try them on to check the waist and size, etc. He didn't want to take them off!
He really loves them.
"And they are even comfortable!"
Oh my goodness that is right, they don't even have a tail!
And, really they don't look too girly after all, because it's all how you wear them right?
Lemon colored skinny jeans with brand new running kicks and a baseball cap, oh and while doing the robot...
It works! I'm just happy they are more pants like, because he can't wear leggings to church. Now I just need to keep these clean until Easter and he'll have a perfectly pastel Easter outfit!
I leave you with an exuberant and comfortable jumping "hodge" in his Hosh pants! Are you sewing along this Spring?
Want to make a pair of Hosh pants yourself...it's part of the Perfect Pattern Parcel #2...
