After sewing up my shirt for "Sew in Tune" last week I've decided that the Plantain tee from Deer and Doe is my new favorite! I've been holding on to these sweet little biking girls since the summer, just waiting for the perfect way to use them and a little bit of inspiration...
As it turns out, Valentine's day was my inspiration, and another plantain was made.
First, this knit is just so lovely, it's got the perfect amount of stretch and is soft and comfy to wear. Second, the plantain is my new favorite because it just fits so, so well! The neckline is low and flattering, but not to revealing and the little bit of flare out at the bottom allows for it to skim the waist perfectly.
As far as the Valetiney inspiration...These biking girls look so cheery and happy I figured they must be up to some sort of merriment! Perhaps, delivering some cheerful goodies?
I scoured through my stash of knits and found a few bits of red here and there and cut out a bunch of little heart balloons for her to trail along behind her. And, then her basket looked too empty so I appliquéd a bundle of flowers for her to deliver as well.
I love this shirt! The kids couldn't stop staring at it, saying, "that looks like a real shirt that you would buy in a store!" Yay, even moms get to wear "fun" clothes sometimes!
And, now, after two new plantain in two weeks I am totally ready to sew up about five more! No, really, I'm searching through my stash now to see what I've got!
Have a great day!
