I have been wanting to start this blog for months now, okay, well really years, but it has been a gradual process. I have this dream to one day open my own business making handmade children's toys, clothes? and accessories, for now, I enjoy making these things for Happy Birthday/New Baby gifts...Please check out my handmade photo album to see some of the things that I have made in the past and if something interests you, let me know!!!
Lately, although not today, I have had a bit of peace here with well sleeping babes for several afternoons in a row...not to mention at night! With that I know i should be doing something really productive...but instead decided i would do something productive for me and not necessarily the house or the hundreds of other things there are to do. I recently purchased some new fabric, thanks to a gift card for my birthday (thanks Larry and Jean!!) and acquired a book that I had been coveting, thanks to a friend who was willing to lend it for a bit (thanks Missy) and I have been working on some little projects, one of which was a spring jacket for Henry. It felt like I did have a bit of a deadline, I still am not used to the brevity of spring in Maryland! Well, I finished his coat last week and he has had many compliments, not that he isn't used those. Now, I realize I spent more time and effort and probably money than I needed to, but there really is nothing that can compare to the happiness you feel seeing such a cutie in something that you made!! Ha!
So, here's to selfish time, outside time enjoying the often too brief Spring weather, and to frends sharing books (...and to other friends probably just having to buy the book after all so that she can return said book, ha ha!)
Alas, now I just need to find time for not only the sewing projects, but for excercising and blog posts...b/c I'm off and running now, hopefully!!!
