The tag sale was so much fun! We got there very soon after they arrived and carefully and slowly walked through. There were so many things that we wanted to buy, but fortunately we showed some restraint, there is always next time (in two weeks, ha!)
One of the things that I bought was a double wooden folding chair. It was one of the first things we saw sitting out front of the barn and I was immediately interested! I had seen something like it on etsy and would occasionally go to look at it online...and think how much fun it would be to have a chair like that, but the one on etsy was way over my budget. Surprisingly this one was not! I barely thought about it and took the tag off and took it inside for them to hold while we continued to shop. When I bought the chair everyone was so excited for me, which made my purchase even more exciting and thrilling!
When we came home Brad asked what we bought and I showed him the chair, which he liked, but wanted to know where we would put it. Hmm, I hadn't really thought that one through too much. I thought maybe outside, maybe in the basement for extra seating, maybe in the living room as extra seating, maybe at the dining room table as extra seating...Brad said, "It's what they call in baseball, a utility player." So it is...at that moment we settled on putting it outside on the deck under the umbrella and enjoyed a glass of iced tea, but now it is sitting at the dining room table...who knows where it will end up next!!
Another utility player that I purchased...an old wooden Coca-Cola box for $2! Perfect for carrying food and drinks from the inside to the outside.
And, since now we are talking about baseball...I thought it appropriate that I share this adorable Oriole Bird mascot hand puppet that I made for a little girl named Jane, I am in love with it!
Her mom asked me if I could make her some hand puppets for her birthday and Violet's idea was to make her an Oriole bird since she (well, and Violet too) loves the Orioles! It was the first hand puppet I made and I really do love it, hope she does too...now, off to sew up the rest!
