Several weeks ago I saw this wooden hanger being used as a magazine holder on Pinterest and thought the idea was perfect for our tiny bathroom (because, let's be honest, sometimes you need some reading material...). So, on a recent trip to Ikea I picked up a pack of eight wooden hangers for $5 (amazing deal!) and decided to try out the hanger magazine rack...
Brad is not totally thrilled by it...but Violet and I had fun putting it up and it is certainly less cluttered then having the magazines on top of the toilet or falling onto the floor.
And, speaking of things on the floor in the bathroom...hand towels! I'm not sure about you, but every single time I walk into the bathroom there is a hand towel on the floor. I can't really blame anyone for it because it isn't intentionally done it's just that little ones need to dry their hands. They can reach the towel but can't reach to hang it back up again, thus the logical place is to leave it on the floor I suppose. For months and months and months this has been aggravating me, and then it dawned on me...I have closet full of wooden hangers now! So, last week I plucked one of the hangers out of our coat closet and plunked it onto the towel rack, voila, easy towel access! There's no need to even take the towel off of the hanger, thus no more towels on the floor, hooray!! I promised Violet I would give her a special towel to use on the hanger and today I made a simple little "hand" towel for her. I used some toweling that I had purchased from the fabric store several weeks ago, hemmed the edges then embroidered an outline of Violet's little hands onto the towel. Perfect!
ps. I got some embroidery tips from another pin on Pinterest here. She has an amazing amount of stitches that she shows step by step instructions on how to do them. The stitches are beautiful, it makes me want to start doing some embroidery work!
So, try the hanger trick if you too are being driven crazy by hand towels on the floor, maybe it's just me though...I don't know.
