Five Little Snowmen...

Hi there!!  If you are stopping by via Pinterest or from another link, thanks so much for coming!  And, while you're at it, take a look around...there's lots of fun stuff to see! 

 

Last week Violet learned this little poem at preschool...based on "Five little pumpkins"

Five Little Snowmen sitting on the ground (pat the ground)

The first one said, "Oh my!  Aren't we round?" (gesture with arms around body)

The second one said, "There are snowflakes in the air" (flutter fingers)

The third one said, "But we don't care!" (shrug shoulders)

The fourth one said, "Let's roll and roll and roll" (roll hands around and around)

And the fifth one said, "Hey, lets go bowl" (pretend to bowl)  (*This was added by a bowling enthusiast in her class, cute!)

Then "wheeeew" went the wind, and then the sun came out to play (make a big round sun overhead with arms)

And the five little snowmen knew their fun was done and began to melt away (melt to ground)

Fun, right?!  We've been reciting this over and over here and thinking how fun it would be to have some snowmen of our own!!   But, since there have been only flurries here and there this winter I made some snowmen out of felt instead.

Please excuse the dirty white gloves...you know, they were from our excessive stash of gloves and such, and really white gloves don't stay white long...

The idea is similar to the little pumpkin finger puppets I made at Halloween (thanks to Delia's tutorial).

Violet took them to school yesterday and shared them with her classmates very fun, but we really do wish for some real snow around here!
