Hi there!! If you are stopping by via Pinterest or from another link, thanks so much for coming! And, while you're at it, take a look around...there's lots of fun stuff to see!
Don't you just love when you get a present that you absolutely love but didn't even know you wanted it?!!
Brad gave me a portrait lens for our DSLR for my birthday. At least that's what he told me it was called. Okay, really he told me that it was a lens that would help me to take pictures of things up close, in low light, without the flash, a portrait lens. Cool, I thought...
And then i picked it up and tried it out while Henry was playing with some Magnetic letters...Not just cool!!! Awesome!!
But this post isn't really about my new lens and the photos, because, honestly, i don't really have any knowledge of photography. I just like to take pictures and I like them to look good!
Rather, this post is about these little magnetic letters...
You've seen them before here, and here. They are super simple to make, all you do is glue a magnet onto the back of a Bananagram letter and there you go! Sounds just as simple as the Bananagram belt I made doesn't it?! I'm sure you've seen similar magnets made out of scrabble letters, right? I love the Bananagram letters though. They have a slippery feel, they feel a bit like tiles. They also make a cool little clicking sound when they hit together. We have been playing with these letters sans magnet with Violet since she was about 19 months old (of course with close supervision so that she didn't put them in her mouth). She would pick a letter out and we would tell her what the letter was and then a word that started with that letter. Now, Henry plays that game as well, but now he has the additional treat of having some of them that are magnets as well.
He really enjoys the job of pulling them apart and the clicking sound that the magnets make as they stick onto the metal.
And, the little mimic that he is...he enjoyed learning the letters and words. As it turns out P and P words seemed to be his favorite ;)
To conclude...these magnets are loads of fun...
and I
Oh, and ps...I woke up yesterday with a terrible, awful, bad case of tendinitis in my right hand! (I am right handed!) Boo, this is something that reoccurs sometimes...but me oh my, it hurts! And, of course I'm supposed to rest it. And, I have a multitude of things I want to be doing for Violet's upcoming birthday! Hmmm....
