Hi there!! If you are stopping by via Pinterest or from another link, thanks so much for coming! And, while you're at it, take a look around...there's lots of fun stuff to see!
Well, you know how the saying goes...
There has been little in the way of sewing this past week, but there has been a lot of work!!
I decided that before I move on this month...I must get myself organized!! And, that means a lot of sorting, folding and moving things around. It also, as it turns out, means a little bit of sawing and drilling as well ;) It's a lot of work!
But, this weekend, I put it all aside (at least for the mornings...) and we went on some adventures...
First, to see some big trucks up close and in person...
Have you ever seen an almost two year old sit this still before?!
And then, to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival...
Future farmer...
Trucks, of course, are always awesome!
And the sheep and wool festival was amazing as well, albeit a bit overwhelming! Aside from the obvious sheep viewing...We also got to see the end results of the sheep to shawl competition, which was awe inspiring! To see, at 10:00am, the beautiful shawls that people were making, or in one case had completed, and to know that all of the wool that they were using had just been on the sheep at 8:00am, amazing!!
And, some sheep dog demonstrations.
There was beautiful wool, of all varieties, everywhere!! I picked up two large bags of multicolored wool roving and two lovely pieces of hand dyed felted wool, yay!!
So, it was a lovely, exhausting, and fun filled weekend here!
And, then, to top of all of the loveliness of family time this past weekend...I get to start off the week with some more loveliness! It was announced that my recycled paper bird mobile
won the Judges' Choice in the Feather Your Nest Series over at Stumbles and Stitches!!!
Oh my goodness, I feel like jumping for joy!! Oh, what the heck, okay I will you can't see me ;) What a fantastic way to start a week! I seriously have never won something like this before and the prizes from the Fat Quarter Shop, Drygoods Design Online, Lark Crafts, and Jenny Bartoy ~ Handmade Designs are AMAZING!!! The competition was stiff!! Seriously, you must take a look at the Flickr group, there were so many amazing and awesome upcycled projects from everyone!!
Thank you to all of the judges and to Jenny and Angel for motivating and inspiring me to get my butt moving on some in my home projects!! My house and family thank you for it!!
And, just in case you want to make a bird mobile of your own, here's my Bird Template enjoy!
Have a wonderful day!
