In four short days we will be celebrating Henry's second birthday!! GAH!!! I really can't believe it...and am having some major denial issues about the whole thing! In fact, until this past Friday I genuinely thought that his birthday was next weekend, not this weekend!!! Uh, oops!!! Not that I was forgetting it by any means, just that I thought there was one more weekend to get prepared and such...
Goodness, how is May going by so quickly? How have two years gone by so quickly?!
Well, unfortunately, since I thought that I had more time, it seems likely that one of Henry's presents, which I ordered, will likely not make it in time...But, luckily for me, one of the other ones was something I was making...and it came together so easily and quickly! Yippee, at least I'll know that he has one thing to open ;)
So, what is it? My latest installment from the Wee Woderfuls book. Hillary calls him Eddie. I am, for now, calling him Sam, mostly because that is the name that Brad gave to every animal he ever had when he was a kid. However, I think he will need a name change because we already have enough Sams in our life ;)
He is one of the reasons why I had to go to the fabric store the other day, to buy some fake fur for his hair. That stuff is really weird. I wasn't sure how I felt about it all until I saw him all put together and I love the look!
And, then, why Sam? you may ask...Well, with all of the dolls we have around here, we only have one baby boy, many girls and some princesses. Henry, of course, does not mind or notice that they are all girls really. In fact, he runs around half the time playing princess or wearing Violet's ballet shoes and a tutu or shouting "I'm Ladybug Girl!!!" ...which I have absolutely NO problems with what so ever!!
Imaginary play in all forms is fun, fantastic and totally cool with me...I just thought that I would give him the option. And, of course, I wanted to make him something, something to snuggle with, something to call his own, someone to be, perhaps, his favorite pal (aside from Violet of course)! And, maybe, maybe this little guy, who is wearing one of my all time favorite shirts of Henry's from when he was a baby, might just fit the bill.
We shall see.
Really two?!!
