One of the best presents Henry got for his birthday...a bag of rocks!
Oh, and a new dump truck...
Oh, and we bought a simple to put together, raised garden bed to put the rocks in... And let me tell you, there has been lots and lots of quiet, non fighting and cooperative play in this rock box!!
It was something that we had been wanting to do for a while now...well, probably since last summer, but we had to wait until Henry was past his putting things in his mouth stage.
The rocks and dump truck were a gift from grammy and pop pop after seeing how much he liked playing in their rock patio. (Funnily gigi and pop pop gave Henry a book about a dump truck for his Birthday, perfect companions!)
I added a little bucket of dirt next to it as well. Oh fun!
To add to the fun of it all...painted rocks! We have been talking about doing this for a bit now and when I yelled "it's painting time!" both Violet and Henry ran toward me in excitement! (If you have ever read "Ladybug girl and the Bug Squad" you might recognize that line)
Henry loves these guys, and can often be found pushing them around in his dump truck or attempting to carry them all in his arms at once!
I see more of these in our future! We might need to get some more rocks first.
