I'm over at Designs by Sessa today sharing my Beachcomber shorts for Shorts on the line!!
Find out what pattern I used and check out my cargo pocket tutorial!
In the meantime...I just had to share some extra pictures of these shorts here, because they make me so Happy! You know when you make something that you really like for your kids and it's cool...and then you make something for them and you can't stop grinning when they are wearing it! Well, these are the grinning kind of shorts for me!
I'm not sure if it's the shorts, which gave me some flashbacks of jams, or if it's the memories tied to them, either way I love them!! I love that they are a bit crazy and a bit hodge podgey (Brad's adjective, in a totally nice way!)!
I love that, for the first time ever, I remembered to actually put a tag on something I made for them, probably only due to the fact that the tags were on my brain after completing a bunch of onesies, none the less...perfect placement for them!
But most of all, I love that Violet and Henry really really love them!
These are the shorts that Violet was wearing when I realized that she "Got it!"! Got what being at the beach is all about, got the coolness of walks on the beach, toes in the water, salty wind blown hair...she just got it...and does it well!
These are the shorts that Henry took, as far as he was concerned, his first timid steps on the soft sand...
And then he pretty much gave up after this (for almost the entire week...) and sat down.
Oh, but this looks peaceful doesn't it? It is a bit. But, in fact...the part that is out of the shot...is that Henry was instructed to sit there so that he would be safe from harms way while Daddy saved the day! ;)
But really, he was peaceful there.
And then back to this happy girl again...because, well, because I can't help it...
A full pocket full of shells...
The sound of shells jingling in her pockets as we walked off the beach was quite loud, even over the waves...
So, success...and even more so, because, I purposefully made Violet's pair unisex in color, so we will be enjoying these beachcombers for many more beach trips to come!
