Here's a fun way to pass out Trick or Treat treats this year or for a classroom party. I was inspired by these little cuties. I give you...
What you need:
Felt (orange, black for the face and green for the stem)
Scissors
Sewing machine or glue or embroidery floss and needle
What to do:
Here's a handy dandy template for the pumpkin pieces. You will need one circle and two of the part circles.
Once you have your pumpkin pieces cut, it's time to add your Jack o Lantern's face. You can either glue
or sew the face on.The eyes and nose should go on one half and the mouth on the other.
Once you have added the faces, put your pocket together. Lay full felt circle down first, then lay the bottom partial circle down (mouth), then overlap the top half (eyes and nose) on top. Sandwich the stem between the orange felt layers at the top of the pumpkin. Sew around the outer edges of the pumpkin. I used my sewing machine (because I'm lazy), but this can also easily be done by hand stitching a running stitch as well.
And you are done. (Oh, I forgot to mention, you can also be totally lazy and draw on the face with a Sharpie! See light orange pumpkin.)
Enjoy!
