First things things first...the winner of the Crafting Connections Fall Nature Walk is
This sounds wonderful! Please enter me. :) Your mantle is so pretty, too.
Thanks for entering, Jennet I will contact you shortly.
And now, one more Halloween craft, it's messy, but fun...
Cornstarch
Water
Saucepan
twine, cut in pieces ~8"-10" long
scissors
felt
ribbon
Cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
To make:
Make cornstarch glue. Mix together ¼ cup of cornstarch and ½ cup of water in a saucepan, stir over medium heat until smooth and translucent. Let mixture cool to touch.
(*Note: If glue gets too sticky while you are using it you can add a small amount of warm water and stir to thin it out.)
Dip a piece of twine into your cornstarch glue.
Place first piece of string onto parchment lined cookie sheet. Make a loop at the top for the stem (and for hanging).
Continue with more pieces of twine until your pumpkin is filled in.
Snip a Jack 'o Lantern face from your felt and press onto your pumpkin.
Let dry. The drying process can sometimes take a while depending on the amount of glue you use and the humidity, etc. If you'd like to speed up the process you can put your pumpkins in the oven on warm (200 deg) until the glue is dry.
When glue is dry add a ribbon and hang, here
Enjoy!
