It's January 14. So, what does that mean? Well, for one, it means I need to remember to say Happy Birthday to one of my oldest friends. And two, it means...that there is one month for Valentine's crafting.
I love Valentine's Day. I love the idea of taking a small moment out of the day to say "I love you" or "You are my friend" or "I care about you". It makes everyone feel good, don't you think?
Not to mention, on a mushier note, it marks the first time Brad gave me a flower 14 years ago...
Yes, yes, I know...poo poo on Valentine's day. It's just one of those made up Hallmark holidays. Sure, it is. But, that doesn't mean that we need to rely on Hallmark, right?
So, let's not. Need some Valentine's Day crafty ideas to spread some love?
Make some love magnets
Or an air dry clay bronze heart...
Hang a lovely mobile...
Embroider some super Valentine heroes, you can find the pattern, by Imagine Gnats, here
Get the kiddos involved and make some twine hearts (using the same method as these twine pumpkins)...
Or some lacing cards...
or some magnetic Valentine's
or bring out the paints, crayons, markers, stickers, doilies you name it...just think back to elementary school...and let your kiddos make their own cards...
Of course, food is a pretty good way to get to a person's heart...
Or try making these simple lovebirds...
Or these tiny and adorable heart peg dolls...
And with these fortune cookies, tutorial by Curly Birds found here, you can share some sweet little messages...
Of course, if you are feeling like you don't have quite enough time for crafting...I've also got a few DIY (or I can do it for you...) Valentine's appliques in my shop...
And this little owl too...
Remember, it's not the money spent...it really is the thought that counts!
