It's a day to celebrate...
Because, it's always nice to be able to wake up and wish someone a "Happy (fill in the blank) Day", don't you think?
Because, last week we were at the library for story time and they shared this lovely little song, Mail Myself To You by Woody Guthrie. And, because we have many loved ones who live a distance away from us, and you know, because I get silly little ideas stuck in my head, we did this...
And then this...
The kiddos loved it...and thought it was hilarious! We tucked these pictures into great big envelopes along with some handmade Valentine's as well...I think the recipients will love them too! (PS, I heart PicMonkey!)
Because I wanted something sort of "Valentiney" and because I don't think, in all my embellishing, that I have ever done an applique for myself...
Because I bought a crazy amount of fun elastic from Pick Your Plum a few weeks back and I thought I'd better get started using it...(and because I knew she would love it...)
Because after seeing the bird on my sweatshirt he asked for a "blue bird with hearts"... (blue is his new favorite color!)
You should make these delicious cookies. Because they are yummy, easy, and because they are made with whole wheat flour, so you know...they are "healthy" for you...but also because they are chocolate!
And, lastly, especially, because fourteen years ago today he gave me a flower for the first time and stole my heart...
And I am very, very happy about that!
Ps, this little guy has been on my mind since Raccoon Week! I used Rachael's raccoon template for the head and made up the rest...(if there is interest, I could likely make a tutorial for this little guy...)
He is so squishy and cute...
Alrighty, I wish you a day filled with love! Because, no matter what you think about Valentine's Day...we could all use a little love!
