The last day of KCW!! Phew! I'm exhausted!
Today, I got a chance to do some more pattern testing, yay! It's the prefontaine short by Jill, aka, That Moxie Girl.
The moment I saw these shorts I knew I wanted to give them a try. I love retro running shorts and that's what these are except in pint sizes. I had already been thinking about making Violet and Henry some "pool shorts" for swimming lessons and trips to the pool this summer (the constant complaining about still being wet after changing out of bathing suits gets exhausting to me) and this seemed like the perfect pattern for the job!
I dug out an old freebie Ameican Eagle towel to use as my fabric. The towel had always been too thin, but was perfect for shorts making, and the brown and orange colors seemed well suited to the "retro" vibe!
Violet and Henry got to try them out today for swim lessons. This is before lessons...Violet has been a stellar and patient model this week...
Henry on the other hand has loved his new duds...but not necessarily loved hanging around to get his picture taken...he's not so into standing still of late (and on the way too the pool the layered shorts look looked a bit silly...)
So what was their consensus about the shorts?...they love them! They are super comfy and perfect for post swim...
What's the consensus about the pattern? Such a fun pattern! Even in the testing stage the pattern is easy to follow and simple to put together. I am loving the retro vibe of these shorts and I am a bit jealous and want a pair of my own! (I'll let you know as soon as this pattern is released, you'll definitely want to pick it up!)
**Update: Prefontiane shorts Pattern by Made with Moxie is now available here!**
And so, there ends KCW...check out the Flickr group and all of the awesome stuff...till next time...
