We've got fairies on the brain. I'm not sure what it is about them...is it because they are so darn cute? Because it's fun to say the word fairy? Because everything they use is miniature? Who knows, but we love them.
I will say that likely, a lot of the fairy love was born from our "Supper Tree Farm" stories and recently we've been listening to a lot of "Sparkle Stories" which also have a lot of fairies in them...
Whatever the reason, we've got fairies here, and we love them!
So far this summer we've already made fairy houses, and a fairy tea set...And in the past we've made a variety of different fairies from peg people to clothespin fairies...But today, we made some twinkling fairy bells... We searched through the yard to find sticks...and then carefully wrapped colorful embroidery floss around the sticks and added jingle bells and wooden beads as desired... And now we've got many little twinkling bells around for the fairies to jingle...
Violet was thrilled by this project. The wrapping, the knot tying and bead stringing practice. The fact that we were finally getting around to making fairy bells (which has been on our summer to do list for quite some time...). Henry, liked the idea of it all, but to be honest he was off using his bell on a string as a fishing pole, which is also totally acceptable!
Preceding the fairy bells project...a few new Violet made and designed fairy houses were added to our backyard as well... See, I told you we liked fairies!
Have a great day!
