Okay, so yesterday was just one those days when every time I tried to get something accomplished something else (or someone else as the case often was) was calling my name.
I've got loads (well, maybe not loads, but...) of fabric sitting here and I was just too overwhelmed to even figure out what/where to start. I decided to start small, simple and festive!
With the arrival of Fall on Sunday, came also our autumnal decorations...
We've been really getting into the fall fun spirit and are just beginning ideas for fall crafting so why not sew up a festive pillow too...
This was one of the things on my to make list. I made a similar pillow last year, but then gave it to my aunt as a Thanksgiving hostess gift, so why not make myself one?
I used this pattern for the pumpkin applique. I really was just going for getting something done yesterday, nothing crazy, just something, because you know it was just one of those days where completing something makes you feel oh so good...
So, I didn't do anything too fancy. It's a small pillow cover that I tossed over top of another pillow we already have in our living room. The zipper is too small, but you can't tell that, and ps. why don't I ever have any of the right sized zippers in my stash? It's cute. And I like it, which during Selfish Sewing week is all that really matters, right?
Of course, after I completed the pillow late last night and neatly placed it on a chair in the living room to step back and look at the "something" that I had made, I returned to clean up my sewing desk...and found this.. Um...a piece of the pumpkin that, in my haste, had been forgotten...Oops, I thought it looks smaller than last year's. Oh well.
And, of course, the kids love the pillow too and were excited to see something new in the living room when they woke up this morning. So excited that someone decided to stab it with a pencil!
HA!
Happy selfish sewing! I'll leave you with this teeny tiny adorable little pumpkin that we accidentally grew in our garden, because it's just cute...
