This weekend we are having a weekend of family fun.
We are preparing for a week or so of "playing" Florence Nightingale and six weeks of smoothie making for my husband who is having jaw reconstructive surgery tomorrow.
We are preparing for things in our home to be a bit hectic...
I am feeling overwhelmed by the idea of how the next several weeks will be, but I am also feeling overwhelmed with thankfulness for all of the wonderful, kind offerings of help that have come our way from family and friends.
We are feeling thankful for so many reasons...
for...
a warmish day where we were able to recharge with a quick swim at the YMCA... dates...
a dinner date with my husband and a morning date with Violet... where she said to me "Didn't I pick out a good date for us?". Yes, indeed.
special family dinners out...and silly kiddos...
acting like a tourist in our own city...
whispering wishes to trees...
young and creative minds who like to draw their experiences...
mini photographers...
who like to take pictures of signs...
and "artsy" photos...
my Wiksten Tova dresses that I have worn for the past three days, oops!
so many different carousels in this suburban/metro area of ours... Fun!
the "fireworks" of fall... the late afternoon autumn glow
our little family of four...
that we balance each other out so well sometimes...
that, while I sometimes still crave another addition, we are perfect and whole as we are...
that we are all growing together...
that Violet and Henry are at the age where it is somewhat "easy" to go on day long adventure...
that Violet and Henry each have their own fantastic sense of humor...
the promise of fires in our fireplace...
surprise text messages with good news from a friend...
a time to slow down...
friends...
down the street, far away, and those whom I have never met in person...
family...
I am thankful for taking these moments to reflect. These "thankfuls" began, for us, as a time where each night we would reflect upon the simple things that we were thankful for before going to bed each night and they have become one of my favorite things to do.
Since the month of November is often a month where we find ourselves reflecting on the things that we are thankful for I have asked some of my fellow bloggers to stop by and share with us the simple things that make them thankful... I am so grateful to my guests for sharing with us and also, in turn, giving me some time to learn some new smoothie recipes (tee hee) and time to be a "care giver".
I'd love it, if you feel so inclined, would feel free to share with us some of the little things that you are thankful for in the comments section in the coming days as well...
I hope you are having a lovely weekend and that you take a moment yourself to reflect on those little things that you are thankful for.
