So, yesterday Henry and I took a trip to Michaels...
We were on the hunt for a few specific Valentine making supplies, we got some of them.
And, lots of stuff I hadn't necessarily intended on getting! I'm not sure which is harder to do, fabric shopping with kids, thrift store shopping with kids or craft supply shopping with kids...
Actually, scratch that, I'm fairly certain it's craft supply shopping!
I simply can not keep my mind on what I need while also listening to:
"Can we get this?"
"Gasp! Look at that!"
"We should get this!"
"Please!"
"I just want to hold it!"
"Please!"
And so on...and so on...and so on...
Anywho, there were plans, and a list, that is until Henry started to see all of the things he wanted to get for his friends. He's so sweet and generous! Finally he insisted on a bag of wands.
Okay, cute, all little kids love wands, right? So into the cart they went.
And, then, on our drive home a fun little play on words popped into my head:
"I wand you to be my Valentine!"
Perfect!
Just in case you are in need of a super fast, candy free, fun and last minute Valentine idea for kids...feel free to use this free printable -->
I wand you to be my Valentine.
Simply download and then print out onto cardstock (I printed onto 5"x7" cardstock, with no border). Using a craft knife cut three small slits into the cardstock and slide in your wand...
And there you have it, a pun, a wand and a Valentine all in one!
And, there's even plenty of room for little additions like scribbling, or words or stickers... whatever your little ones want to add, because I don't know about you, but I'm fairly certain my kids won't let a Valentine leave the house without a few of their own creative marks on them too!
Enjoy!
