Yesterday was May Day, and since both Violet and Henry were home from school we decided to have our own little May Day celebration...
Our maypole: a flag pole, tucked into a flower pot...I snipped a small hole into the ribbon ends and slipped the lengths of ribbon onto the clip that typically holds the flag. We attached a small bouquet of flowers to the top with pipe cleaners. The wreaths were made with a bit of babies breath and mums, and green pipe cleaners to hold it all together.
We, of course, didn't really know what we were doing as far as dancing around the maypole...but we had fun none the less. And, danced around it several times winding and unwinding and making up our own little May Day songs.
