Sometimes you find yourself so inspired that you must make something immediately. Such was the case with this project.
One of my husband's co-workers had a little baby girl two weeks ago, her name...Dottie Lemon. Such a sweet and adorable name to match a sweet new baby. The name has family meaning behind it (which I always love) not to mention the fact that her two older brothers helped to pick out her middle name.
Immediately when I heard her name I knew I had to make her something with a polka dotted lemon on it! I mean, how could I not!
I sewed a simple little lemon applique on a sweatshirt to start...
Added a flower "corsage" applique to lemon colored shirt...
And then, to tie it all together, a pair of polka "dottie" (Lotta Jansdotter Bella Sunspray) purlsoho baby pants ...
with a little flower bum...
I love that little bum! I so wished that I was sewing more when I had tiny babes!
Really, it took no time at all to sew these guys up and they came together to make super sweet little gift.
Please, if you are one of my friends whom I owe a new baby gift to, I do apologize for my tardiness (that's my usual mo), sometimes inspiration strikes and lights a fire under my "you know what"!
I promise I'll get it to you...someday!
