I'm not sure what it is but Laura seems to know just what my kiddos are looking for in clothes! It's no secret that Henry loves her Fancy Pants leggings pattern and Violet loves her jeans...and now...a new tank!
I've been doing a lot of pattern testing this summer, bathing suits and tank tops mostly and despite the fact that I somehow managed to already sew up 7 tanks tops! (1&2, 3, 4&5, 6, 7) I couldn't possibly say no to testing the new Twisted Tank from Titchy Threads!
(You already saw a sneaky peak of one of them last week, I had to crop the pictures so that you didn't see the whole thing!)
I started with one for Henry. He had requested a fox tank top days before Laura asked me to test the Twisted Tank so it was a no brainer a fox tank was made...
The fox fabric is from Girl Charlee and the blue knit from the Imagine Gnats shop. I made the size 4 for him and it seems to fit perfectly. He was enamored by the pocket...
I was enamored by it's super clever construction (wonderful instruction as usual!) and this nifty little point that happens because of it!
There are seriously so many ways to have fun with this tank! Henry loved it the moment he saw it! And, in true Henry style, turned it up a notch by pairing it with these plaid shorts!
This kid and his style, I really do love it!
But, of course, as you might have guessed, I didn't get off that easily making only one. When we picked Violet up from school and she saw what I had made Henry while she was learning she requested one herself.
Sigh, I obliged...
But really though it is because this is such a quick little sew, from printing to done this tank took me less than two hours! Both fabrics are again from Girl Charlee. I made Violet a size 6 and it fits her perfectly as well except that it is just a touch snug around her tummy, but that is due to the fact that the deer fabric really doesn't have much stretch to it (and because she has a tiny bit of a little girl belly).
She loves it just as much as Henry!
Oh, between the pocket, the point and it's wrap around construction I can't really decide what my favorite part is...
I do know that there are many more Twisted Tanks in our future!
Another great pattern from Titchy Threads!
