Violet has such a great big crafty heart! The other day she asked me to remind her how many kids were in her class (18). When I asked her why she said it was because she wanted to make everyone a little gift for the holidays.
Well goodness, what a sweet thought! And then, we remembered the number 18! That's a lot!
A few weeks ago, before Daddy headed off overseas for work, she made him a sweet little craft stick person which he then used as a bookmarker while he was away. Such a clever little idea. I suggested that that might be a nice gift to give her classmates, especially now that many of them are delving into the chapter book world.
And so she set out to make 18 craft stick bookmarkers. In one afternoon. Each representing one of her classmates...
She did it and her hand was only mildly exhausted by the end of it...
Pretty impressive, right? She plans to tuck each inside a little Christmas card (we are using these free printables) and hand them out next week to her classmates...
They really do make great little bookmarkers...
And, what a fun and thoughtful gift for these early first grader readers!
For now, they are all hanging out just hanging out together waiting for their books...
Goodness, I love the crafty hearts that are developing here in our home!
