I know we are running behind on our Valentines. Honestly, Henry has been sick and out of school for over a week now, so at first we weren't sure he'd actually be going to school for his Valentine's day party. So now we are playing catch up just in time! Violet, on the other hand, took care of making all of her own cards personalized for each of her classmates just as she did at Christmastime!
Here are the Valentines we made for Henry's classmates...
These were so much fun to make. First, I printed keys directly onto Shrinky Dink paper using my key template and then had Henry color the keys in...
If you'd rather skip the coloring part and just want to print colored keys like these...
directly onto your shrink dink paper you can use this Colored Key template instead.
Once your keys are ready, cut them out and punch a hole through the top, we used a heart hole punch. Prepare your oven and cookie sheet according to package instructions and bake per instructions...Why not toss those little heart hole punches into the oven too, they are so teeny tiny and cute!
Next, feed some string through the hole to make a necklace!
Now print out the card onto card stock, using the "Your Friendship is Key" template...
Cut out the cards, snip a little slit in the center top, tuck the necklace into the slit and tape the rest of the necklace around the back...
There you go...a sweet, fun, kid made and candy free Valentine!
I also think that they would be super cute to give to grownup friends as well! Swap out the string for a split key ring and make a key chain!
Happy Valentine's day! Enjoy!
