Yesterday was all about my love for tees and simple pull on shorts and today...
It's all about this tank!
Back in the beginning of May I asked, on an Instagram post, if anyone knew of an good fitted knit tank patterns...and then, as if she were a pattern angel, Kelley asked me if I wanted to test her new Cine tank pattern! I whipped this one up in a flash and instantly fell in love with it!
It fits perfectly. I love it's "unorthodox" high-low hem (high in the back, low in the front) and, my most favorite part...
The racer-back!
Like my city gym shorts, I'm a little bit embarrassed to admit to how many times I've worn this tank since making it. It's just been THE thing that I've been reaching for to put on in this past month of icky-sticky heat and humidity.
(Of course, today as I sit here it's cold and dreary out and I'm wearing jeans and a sweater!)
Nearly immediately after I made this stripey version I was searching through my stash of knits to make another...
Lucky me, I had just enough of this fox knit (leftover from this Twisted Tank, yay now Henry and I can be matchers!) to make another.
I love that, since it's a tank, it doesn't use up too much fabric.
And, it's a tank top so I feel like it's meant to be made fun! So, use up those animal prints that you usually save for the kiddos!
And, again...Kelley had me at racer-back...
Part of that, I'll admit, might have something to do with the fact that, for the first time ever, I'm totally not afraid to bare my arms...but the other part...is that I love how summery a racer-back feels and it's comfy for all sorts of active things, but also super cute...
For now, the Cine tank pattern is available in size small for free! Kelley is in the process of a move but once she's unpacked she's hoping to grade it for other sizes as well! I've definitely got plans and fabric for more Cine tanks in the very near future! It's really a perfect summer wardrobe staple!
Also, please excuse the wrinkles! That's what happens when at the end of a day that consisted of an 11 mile run, a trip to the farmer's market, kid birthday party, and a trip to the pool you decide to quickly grab clothes out of the laundry baskets and ask your husband to snap a few pictures of you before you then get ready for date night! Phew! So there you go...pretty much how I look all the time in real life anyway!
(No one said this was a "style" blog!)
