Once the weather began to warm up I realized that Violet wasn't the only one that didn't have any shorts that fit...At the beginning of last month I found that I too was desperate for a pair of shorts, and without time to go shopping for a new pair and in the spirit of "Me Made May" I decided to make myself a pair of city gym shorts as well...
They are made with robert kaufman bradford herringbone leftover from my Match With Me ensembles which is the perfect color and weight (although it does tend to wrinkle a bit) to wear virtually daily...
Which, to be honest, is mostly what I was wearing more days than not last month! They are so comfortable and really perfect for all sorts of things. They are definitely my "go to" hiking shorts!
In fact, I think I'll definitely need to make at least one more pair for the summer!
Speaking of things I need to make more of this summer, this Union Street Tee (star fabric )!
I made this shirt a year ago and realized (as I pulled it wrinkled out of the laundry to wear for pictures...) that I never blogged it! The tee still works, but it's faded (it's been worn a lot) and it's pretty big on me now. I love this pattern, especially the V-neck version! Who knew I'd ever be able to make a fancy v-neck tee? I did accidentally make it too short for myself (oops!) which I easily fixed with a little band around the bottom edge...
I actually really liked the band addition though. I just recently purchased a ton of knit from Rachael so I'm thinking I'll need to hold something aside for a couple more Union Street Tees that fit this time!
Slowly, but surely handmades for me are creeping back into my closet!
