As I spoke of neighbors moving away yesterday...we've also been lucky enough to have some new little (and big) faces move onto our street in the past year or so...I suppose that's the general ebb and flow of neighborhoods isn't it.
About a year and a half ago a family with the sweetest little girl moved in across the street from us. She was just about the age that Violet was when we moved here...and Violet and Henry were just about the same age as the siblings who used to live across the street from us...it's all such a great big circle of neighborliness! Violet and Henry love to play with her, love taking care of her and playing games with her. It's so sweet how much they love to hang out with her...and she them!
Just before Christmas she celebrated her third birthday and while the invite said "no gifts needed" it was too late because I already had a plan...
I mean what little three year wouldn't want a giant doll to lug around with her?
I was on the hunt for doll panels for Christmas gifts for Violet and Henry (more about those later...but you've maybe already seen a little sneaky peak...) when I came across these sweet little dolls from See Kate Sew, perfectly adorable! And also...there was no way I could resist making an extra for our sweet little neighbor!
Especially since that face looks so much like hers.
The fabric panels are from Riley Blake, I found mine here, and I couldn't be happier with them!
I gave her a little hand finger knit scarf to keep her warm...
and added a pretty ribbon to the bottom of her underskirt with an overskirt smothered in birthday cakes...
Don't you love how daintily she points her toes...
We didn't see her open the gift...but did receive some super smiley pictures of her after she had with her new doll, giving it a great big hug...It seems that she liked it.
And I'm so glad she did, because I was smitten with this doll. In fact it was hard to give her away...but knowing that she happily lives across the street with our sweet neighbor makes happy too!
Here's to sweet neighbor families that we love getting to know!
