I'm coming in right under the wire for Project Sew It's February "blouse challenge" with an Esme top (pattern from Lotta Jansdotter's Everyday Style)...
I've been having an internal debate all month long about what blouse to sew... sounds much like last months Project Sew It post doesn't it? I had several different thoughts and ideas, and again, much like last month thought..."I ought to use something I've already got..."
Ever since making my Esme dress I've thought that the blouse version would be super cute and versatile, plus it's silhouette is similar to two of the blouses I had been thinking about (the Beatrix and the Everyday blouse)...
I thought it'd pair sweetly with some Leah Duncan Meadow fabric that I've had in my stash for years now...
I'm sensing a pattern here...and wondering if this is how this whole Project Sew it will continue...hem and haw over what to make right up to the very last minute...and then make myself use patterns and fabric that I've already got on hand...
It actually sounds like a pretty good plan! Right?
I like this top. The neckline is my favorite part about it.
It's a flattering neckline for me I think...
Though, as with my Esme dress, I fee like it's a bit on the "boxy" side for my liking, but I think it pairs nicely with "skinny jeans" and also gives it a bit more of a dressy look.
All in all, I'd say I'm pretty happy with it though...and hooray for beating the buzzer!
Two months into Project Sew It and I'm two for two...though, still a procrastinator!
