Wow, it's been a busy week, well a busy month...but such is February!
Last week I sewed up two dresses, a tee, two pillows, made two cakes, and put together several crafts and games and such for a birthday party over the weekend...(to be blogged...sometime...) and to top all of that off I ran 20 miles in mostly pouring rain yesterday morning!
Phew!
So, when, after breakfast, everyone in the house wandered off to do one thing or the other on their own...I took that moment to sneak up to the sewing room to make myself something snuggly...
The Linden sweatshirt from Grainline studio in this fabulous, thick and warm navy striped french terry from Imagine Gnats (Sorry it's now sold out! It always goes in a FLASH!). Erin actually just posted a Sunday Everyday Sweater over on the Imagine Gnats blog today using the same fabric. It too looks amazing! And, it seems that they were able to get a few more yards of this french terry and she recommended that you subscribe to the newsletter if you want to know the minute it arrives!
So...yes, I know I'm so late to the Linden party...
I don't know what held me back for so long, but sometimes, just as in life, if something was meant to be or meant to be sewn...
This fabric, had been sitting washed and ready to go for a week or so...sitting there in it's snuggliness taunting me...
And then, still chilled from my run...time found me.
Homework and studying and email catch ups happened all around me and there were breaks to ask and answer questions, edit paragraphs and more, but a raglan...those sew up so quickly!
Well, I suppose it might've been faster had there not been stripes to make my eyes crazy and to match...
But still, it was quick! And oh so satisfying!
I'd been craving a cozy post run, post shower, weekend sweatshirt for some time now. And this, this fits the bill perfectly!
Hooray for "meant to be sewn" moments!
Ps...no I don't always have an American flag and International flags waving around my house...those are party decorations still hanging, but it seemed the perfect backdrop for this (as my husband called it) "Gap" sweatshirt.
Pps...no I did not take time to put on makeup in these pictures...this is roll out of bed puffy eyed goodness here...but hey, that's what this sweatshirt is for!
Happy Day to you!
