Last month I had the opportunity to pattern test the new skirt pattern from Meg of Sew Liberated.
The Gypsum Skirt pattern was released today...and, spoiler alert, it's a winner!
For the test I made both version A and version B.
Version A, was made with this beautiful floral lawn from my stash.
Version A has those same fantastically deep pockets as the Arenite pants, which are just perfect for tucking flowers, a phone, seashells, or any other kinds of treasures you can imagine...
And the elastic waist is comfy, and forgiving...
It's the perfect pattern for a summer time skirt...I've already been getting some great wear out of it!
It's really perfect for all seasons too! I'm actually looking forward to making one in some fantastic tencel twill as well!
And, version B...
is just as good!
Version B, omits the large drapey pockets and instead tucks them inside the seams...
But, just because they are hidden in the seams doesn't mean that they aren't just as useful!
This skirt has been one of my favorite wardrobe additions this Spring/Summer! The fullness of the skirt allows for a phone to be slipped inside the pocket, with no one even noticing...
This version is made in Brussels washer Linen from Imagine Gnats. I fell in love with this nectar color the moment I saw it and I've really enjoyed pairing it with a variety of different prints and patterns, the peachy/melon color goes so well with so many different things! And, the weight and flow and feel of this linen is really divine!
This is Meg's 30th pattern that she has designed...and it shows! Her instructions are always so easy to follow and her design aesthetic is both beautiful and functional!
So, so good, I really truly love both versions!
In honor of the Gypsum release she's offering a little discount, check out her Instagram post for more...and then head on over to her shop!
